Boots With the Spur Project
Home of the Honorary Cowboy Capital of The World Boot Statues!
Stephenville’s Boot with the Spur Project is a fun and creative way to celebrate the town’s western roots. Local businesses sponsor large boot sculptures that are painted by talented local artists, each one showing off a unique design. These boots are placed around town for everyone to enjoy, bringing color to the community and giving people a reason to explore. It’s a great way to support local art, highlight hometown pride, and add something special to the Stephenville experience.

Our Story
The Boot with the Spur project was created as a way to bring the Stephenville community together through art, tradition, and local pride. The project features large boot sculptures placed around town, each one sponsored by a local business and hand-painted by talented area artists to honor the Cowboy Capital of the World. These boot statues celebrate Stephenville's western heritage while also supporting small businesses and showcasing local creativity. More than just public art, the project is about creating a sense of unity, encouraging community involvement, and giving people a fun and meaningful way to connect with their hometown.
Guidance Statement
All Businesses participating in the project must contact the city of Stephenville Development Services Department to confirm that the Boot's Display location meets city's Guidelines.

Artist Tyeler Eggers
Hello, my name is Tyeler Ann Eggers I am 14 years old and in 8th grade at White Horse Christian Academy. I play volleyball and run track. I love the outdoors and hanging out with my French bulldog Murphy. I am very passionate about my art and take weekly lessons from Sarah Sossaman. I enjoy the challenge of stepping out of my comfort zone with my art and pushing my limits to see what I can create. I would love the opportunity to create art for a fantastic cause. Please consider me for this great honor of creating something wonderful for this community that I love so much for such a grand cause.

Artist Sarah Sossaman
Hi My name is Sarah Sossaman and I am a freelance artist and private instructor in Stephenville,
Tx. I created the Rx23 Art Collective as a hub for creativity big and small. My collective
welcomes freedom of expression and loud imagination. I challenge my students to branch out of
their comfort zones and experiment with new mediums and ideas with every new artistic
endeavor. As a freelance artist, I work in a variety of mediums from hyper realistic charcoal
portraiture to extremely conceptual watercolor and acrylic. I find that boxing myself, or my
students in medium-wise, is terribly stifling to the creative process.
As a native Texan, I incorporate Texas culture and pride into many of my commissions with
creative freedom, and also into my personal work. I love to include personal metaphors,
references to flora and fauna, symbolism, nods to counterculture, and emotion into my work. I
am noted for my realistic high contrast designs. My passion and constant study of art history
and other artists allows me to maintain a wheelhouse of skill in both the 2D and 3D avenues

Artist Tashaunda Barron
Hi My Name is Tashaunda! I am a mother of 3 and have worked most of my life in the equine industry, racehorses, pi hooking, and currently working for a local cutting horse trainer. I studied at The Ohio State University and the University of Akron. Move to Texas in 2020 when I married a local boy and moved to the closest place to heaven on Earth. Painting has been a lifelong hobby of mine that I am beginning to pursue more and more because my children are older.

Artist Heidi Rosanne Queen
Hi! My name is Heidi Rosanne Queen and I currently live in Dublin, Texas with my husband on our little farm. I'm a former wrangler, EMT, Tarleton graduate and having come from a family full of artists on both sides, have been a freelance artist since I was in high school doing many projects with many different medias and techniques/genres, including but not limited to clay, antler, painting, drawing, wedding florals, photography, leather, digital, logos and much more. I have since published a cookbook and now own 2 businesses based out of Dublin. Salty Mustang Co., a primarily online western shop where I design everything labeled "Salty Mustang Co." and Highland Queen Ranch Bridal where I design custom bouquets and other (primarily wedding) florals as well as custom high-end jewelry.

Artist Sadie Sheppard
Hi!
I am a 24-year-old artist, stay-at-home mother of three, and the founder of an art business inspired by my upbringing on a 600-acre ranch in Cresson, Texas. Growing up surrounded by horses, cattle, and the beauty of rural life cultivated my appreciation for western heritage and nature, which continues to influence my work today.
Over the years, I have completed more than 40 commissioned pieces and provided face painting services for numerous birthday parties and special events. I take immense pride in every project I undertake, approaching each piece with dedication, attention to detail, and a commitment to quality. To me, a work of art is never finished until I am completely satisfied that it reflects my best work and exceeds my clients’ expectations.

Artist Veronica Rodriguez
Hi! My name is Veronica Rodriguez. I’m 21 years old and have been a part of the Stephenville community for most of my life. I grew up in Dublin and have spent the past three years in Stephenville after graduating high school and earning my associate degree from Ranger College. I continued my education at Tarleton State University, where I earned both my bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Communication. I now work as the Technical Communications Coordinator for University College at Tarleton.
Art has always been a creative outlet for me. I’ve experimented with various mediums over the years, with watercolor being my favorite, but I love exploring new techniques. Painting has primarily been a hobby, whether it’s window painting, wood burning, watercolor, crafting mums, or painting overalls—I enjoy any opportunity to create something unique and expressive. Especially in high school when I was the Mascot & did a lot of prop making! I’m excited for the chance to contribute my work to a community project that celebrates local artistry and brings people together. In my high school years I worked through doing lots of community projects, and accumulated 300+ hours so doing anything for the community is really something I am passionate about!

Artist Allision Trejo
My name is Allison Trejo. I'm from the San Angelo area, but have called Stephenville home for about 6 years now. I consider myself a "jack of all trades, master of none" as I dabble in several creative hobbies like painting, woodburning, flipping furniture, and decorating cookies. I love creating fun, bold pieces with west Texas inspiration. Anything I make is typically full of bright pops of color. I also enjoy experimenting with different mediums on each piece. I work at Tarleton, am raising an amazing little boy, and like to serve others every chance I get.
